As this not only happens to be an easy to use film editor, but at the same time, it also happens to be one of the free video editing software available in the market. With that out of the way, let’s go ahead and have a look at how you can easily, and effectively use Filmora9.
Step 1: The first step is to download and install the software by heading over to
Step 2: Run the software once you have installed it, and you will be brought to the following screen. All you have to do here is choose the option you want to go with. You can either go ahead and create a new project, open an existing one, or check out your recent projects.
Step 3: I went ahead and clicked on the New Project, and I was quickly brought to the following screen. This is your full featured editor that you can use to work on your video projects.
Step 4: Next step is to click on Import Media Files, do that, and browser to the folder where your video is, and open that file. Once the video is loaded, this is how the interface will look like.
Step 5: You will now need to hover the mouse over to the video, and click the + button in order to add the video to the project.
Step 6: Once the video is in the project, this is how it will look like.
Step 7: If you want to add things to your video such as music, text, transitions, filters, overlays, or other elements, you can do so from this section. You can change the placement of whatever you add, increase, or decrease the duration of the effect, and choose from a lot of options available. Filmora even gives you access to its Effects Store from where you can download the effects that suit you the best.
Step 8: Once you are done with all the editing, and adding effects, simply click on Export on the top left corner, and click on Create Video. You can also upload directly to YouTube or Vimeo if you wish to. You can even go ahead and burn the video directly onto the DVD. Alternatively, if you want to save this project so you can work on it later, you can click on File that is found on the top left corner, and then choose Save Project from the drop-down menu.
That is all; the above-mentioned process is all you need to perfectly edit your videos without any issues whatsoever. I know it sounds too good, and too easy to be true, but there is literally no other complication in the process. Sure, the learning curve is still there as it took me about 30 to 45 minutes properly learning the software, but aside from that, there is not a lot to worry about.
Verdict
I have to be honest with you, as someone who has used Final Cut Pro, as well as Premiere Pro, I can tell you right now that both of the programs are extremely powerful, and has a ton of granular controls over how you are going to edit your videos. However, their biggest crux is that those software solutions are also the most complicated for newcomer filmmakers or editors who are just looking to put their videos together for YouTube.
